    Domain Renting

Just a thread for thoughts about renting a domain instead of buying one or renting a domain to place your ads/links on for SEO.

    Here's an example:

The domain name naturalgas.com is for sale for $5,000,000, you own an SME gas distribution business but there is no way you can afford to pay that much for this domain. Instead, you can rent it for $5000 per month and have all your content there; much more affordable for you and lets the owner make some money from their domain at the same time.

Please post your thoughts and opinions.

The idea intrigued me, but I'm not sure how willing people would be to pay. I would rather get SMENaturalGas (in your example).

Its just a lot of overhead costs for most of the people on this forum.

If the domain naturalgas.com is worth $5 million (which it is not, that is one of the most overpriced domains I've ever seen), but if it were worth that, you can expect to pay about $50-75k/month in rent.
