Post .asia Domain is here

Another online gold mine, the .Asia TLD will soon become available for registration, and it is predicted to become one of the largest online gold mine for domain name speculators.

I am using my t-mobile dash, so i cant copy and paste the url to the news story on CNNMoney.com, but just search .asia domain to find out what the pundits are saying about it.

Are you ready for it? If yes, are you planning on registering some .asia domains for future sale or just for your business? If not for future sale, why not, everyone is probably gearing up for it.

Since the Asian market is poised to becoming the world's largest economy within the next few years, do you see a large market trend in the dot asia domain registration?

Nope. Everytime there is a new domain suffix there is a lot of buzz about it. Think back not too long to the buzz about .mobi and the hundreds of millions people spent buying up domain names. Most of them floundered.
It's like dealing with fake money, people perceive value that isn't really there. People will buy up a lot of domain names, some will make big cash reselling them and you will hear how everyone is making billions, but you don't hear about the people that bought thousands of dollars worth and made nothing.

Yes, J., i know. it's like a big game/joke to make people buy domain names which some may never be able to resell. But if you are the owner of the dotAsia Organization, then you'll be smiling to the bank.

We too are negotiating with a certain government trying to pursuing them to allow us to develop their country domain suffix into a commercial registration, but they want us to pay them $6 million down payment, so we're just exploring investment opportunity to develop it.

The developer of dotTV has come out real good, especially when he sold it to VeriSign.

Yes, some people come out really well. The developers and people that get the hugely popular names make out like bandits. Then it gets hyped in the media about how it is so easy to make money buying and selling domain names.
But there are millions of other people who buy domain names and are never able to sell them, or not for anything substantial.
