How to get traffic to your website?

I would have to say Yahoo Answer's and Forum Posting w/Forum Signature. Both options are free use and can be very effective. With Yahoo Answer's of course you would have to give an appropriate answer as not to Spam. If your answer gets chosen as Best Answer you will see even more traffic.
Traffic depends on how much you post per month. If you used every option listed above once a month you could see 20,000 plus visits a month easy.

Here's a link to the screen shot I took this morning. Cpanel Screen Shot It's from a site of mine that wasn't being promoted until yesterday using only one method from my list.

I think I under estimated the traffic at 20K a month it's more like 100K or more.

Great list when it comes to marketing online. But i only suggest mastering a few methods , such as blogging, ppc, articles, o even video marketing.

it seems like blogging is becoming over used. what would make your blog more attractive than another? what methods do you use to gain a better audience for your blog?

I would advise people not to take do all of those methods, find a 2 or 3 that work really well for you and then concentrate all your efforts on those. The 80/20 principle applies here too. 80% of your website's traffic will come from only 20% of your efforts. So figure out which one of those work well for your market, business, or affiliate program and then go all out with those methods. If you try to take all of those methods on, you'll quickly burn out unless you want to outsource the work on eLance or oDesk.

plus you have to lay press releases out in the correct way ie keywords in anchor text but after you have submitted these you have to advertise them on social site ie facebook , twitter etc......
