Question SEO Agency Experiences

Last year I setup b10g after such a disappointing experience with a SEO agency, we have grown very organically (pardon the pun) through word of mouth and by providing clients with results driven pricing. Basically steering away from the Monthly retainer type arrangement most agencies choose.

What I wanted to know was, what other peoples experiences of SEO agencies was and what else I could do to improve b10gs offering to clients by not making the same mistakes.

Looking forward to seeing what people have to say

I think those SEO agencies are SCAM at least some of those I have seen in UK. Their approach is to get part of your marketing budget rather than providing a professional expertise. You should consider some freelancer and currently eLance is the best place for those. SEO projects starts $200 from there.

Veiko I think you have misunderstood, we are an SEO agency and are completely against that practice in fact we work with many clients on a results only basis.

thanks for the comment to my blog

Some things I want to clarify:
1. I didn't considered even SEO as the profession until I arrived back to UK 2004. For me it was normal to be listed on top if you develop your site properly and use it properly. And I didn't had any problems to be No 1 with keywords "human resource management", "financial accounting software" and even "sage accounting software" as after someone had requested a report how our product compares to Sage I published comparision report. This was between 1998-2002 as meanwhile I had other problems to sort out.
2. I understand perfectly that SEO is needed as there was Website Designer who did the actual site.
3. If I would be client, I would consider most cheapest proposal. I saw a lot how the business in UK is done since 2004 when I have been there and for me it was not most effective way. Its not devaluating my skills as I haven't had any possibilities to use my skills since 2002 and earn decent money. That's what I'm protesting about. Even born in Estonia I have no relationships to there and I would never go back there. Maybe another article about my experiences to use my skills better in UK and dealing with recruitment consultants will give some idea of my recent experiences in UK when trying to use my expertise and skills there.
Sure, if you will have SEO work which pays more than $200 (£100) for few week work I could be more than happy to take it.
I'm still in UK (even in Belfast) and restricted to leave by the court decision.
