Link building, Search Engine Optimization and such

What's up everyone?! Are there any good companies out there that do link building, Search Engine Optimization and other online marketing "tricks"? Of course I am not looking for something particularly too expensive either. Thanks for your time.

You should check out the eLance where the professional freelancers are. Otherwise you will be either SCAM'ed or you will end up paying too much for the firm not ddoing effective work for you.
Even I'm being in UK and long term professional charging little bit more there are too many SCAM businesses in this arena. Some price examples of Search Engine Optimization work in eLance:
Technical optimisation of 5-10 page site: $250-$500
Link building around $20 per high quality link

Keyword research, monitoring and analytics is extra what I'm charging.

I would agree that there a lot of Scam Search Engine Optimization companies out there, which are ruining the industry for the good guys.

This is the reason we charge a small consultancy fee, then nothing until key deliverables are achieved. All of our clients prefer this method, this way we dont have to blame algorithms and sand boxes for poor performance.

I hired my Search Engine Optimization team from Elance.com. Their name is Sansoft, you can find them in the provider directory. I actually outsourced all of my startup functions to providers from Elance and so far, I have been very impressed. For the "on-page" portion of the SEO project, they charged $700, and for the linkbuilding, they are charging $4 per link. So, hopefully that helps you out a bit.

Good luck on your Search Engine Optimization project,

Dominique

Antonio,

If you spend a bit of time learning the basics of online marketing and Search Engine Optimization in particular you can achieve really good results without incurring any cost - except a bit of time...

Hi,

I found a local specialist in Chicago who did a very good job for me. It was definitely worth it. Doubled my traffic at a reasonable price. If you go to my primary site (it is in my sig), you will see his link in the footer.

However, despite getting much more traffic, repeat visitors continue to be rare. So, really, the only way to build and add value to a site is by creating content that people find valuable enough to come back to your site repeatedly. The quickest and best way to get links is via creating interesting content. Otherwise, all of the Search Engine Optimization work is for naught. So, if you are convinced that you have something special, and what ever you are doing can be monetized in some manner, then decent SEO is worthwhile. Otherwise, wait until you find that you are ready. It doesn't pay to spend money until you know that you can get a decent ROI.

Rich

Hi I agree with Dylan. Its easy enough to do it yourself for free. At first I was scared thinking it would be difficult, when I got an ebook on Search Engine Optimization for cheap. I did it all myself and it was much easier than I thought.
You should try it out before hiring anyone, go to ebay and spend a couple of dollars thats where I got mine.

Hi,

I have found that to a certain extent, most people can figure out how to increase traffic using Search Engine Optimization techniques. But this is a complicated field, and a good SEO expert simply has knowledge and expertise that is not found in any ebook, or forum. All of the tactics are not published since they are considered proprietary.

Whether or not it is worth paying for Search Engine Optimization, depends upon the site and its content. For me, I increased traffic from 13000/month to about 60000/month, and, now it has fallen back to about 50000/month because I do not update as frequently. But lots of changes were made, that I never found discussed or written in any article.

Rich

Do not try and find one by the search engines. This is borderline suicide. Search Engine Optimization lately has had a large problem with scammy little businesses running clients into the ground, and taking a lot of money with them.
There's a few gods of the Search Engine Optimization game that will always give you your moneys worth, but they don't come cheap. Neil Patel(pronetadvertising.com), Michael Gray(wolf-howl.com), Andy Beal (Internet Marketing News | Marketing Pilgrim) these are the high caliber people out there. If you really want to go headlong into it, Rand Fishkin and the crew from SeoMoz do absolutely incredible work. But I believe their minimum pay is 10k/month.

Search Engine Optimization is not something that you can just walk into and do. At least not in a competitive field.

If you need anything more(or some cheaper ones), feel free to drop me a PM w/ some instant messenger information and I'll see who I can dig up. Anything to prevent another guy being take for a spin.

This is not what you want. Not at all. These "freelancers" are the ones who are scamming. Them and the $99 Indian Search Engine Optimization firms, largely.
Here's a way to check for a quality Search Engine Optimization: If they are in any way soliciting clients(posting on freelance sites, cold calling, e-mailing) they're NOT who you want. Business comes to the quality ones naturally.

Antonio,

the effectiveness of your Search Engine Optimization campaign will also depend largely on how competitive the market is. If you're in an industry with only moderate online competition then you should be able to improve your rankings well enough on your own...
