Just keep it content rich and write about whatever is on your mind in your style... what blogging software are you using?

Wordpress will automatically ping your blog... so all you need to do is write and publish... choose appropriate keywords... and continue doing it on a regular basis.

Make sure you also add tags to your images as I am now getting traffic just by having my pictures tagged... and make sure you pimp your blog out so it looks good and is easy to navigate as well as read.

I've been up and running for 3 months and had 1500+ hits... keep at it and enjoy it... everything else will fall into place.

Let the search engines know about your blog - Again, there are entire books written about this subject but I want you to be able to do this easily and quickly. So, simply go to Ping-o-Matic! and submit your blog for free. They'll take care of the rest! Really... it's that easy!

work, work, work. find every message board under the sun and make a thread about your blog. for every 100 people you can get to your blog, maybe 2 or 3 of them may stay and become a reader. if it was easy it wouldn't be called work. i get 1,500-2,000 pageviews a day and that is due to the countless hours i've spent promoting my blog.
you also have to keep the promotion up, there will always be turnover in readers so if you get 1,000 readers and then stop promoting you're going to screw yourself.
