Thanks for the insights, I will consult my programmers on this. I am not too familiar with Search Engine Optimization, or programming for that matter. I have outsourced an overseas design team to build my website; but there has been no mention of SEO. Thanks again.

find blogs in your niche, especially one with no follow removed and comment them. quickest and easiest way to build backlinks.

Ok, first off, the links in this forum are nofollow, so you don't get any backlinks from posting your signature, you just get exposure to your site.

Google changed how the weigh backlinks in October, so it's key to get backlinks in a context. What I mean by this is, don't just exchange links with other sites in the bar and restaurant industry. Get people in the industry to start talking and writing about you. Write about your business in a blog, and then put links to that blog to your website. Just make sure your blog is hosted on a different server than your website, and you'll be fine.

I would ask reviewers in your area to review your business and then write about it. If they write something bad, just fix it and let them know you did. They will probably submit a follow up to the article. If they write good things about you, you have backlinks to your site as well as a good review about you online.

Thanks for the info guys. Simply put, I need to drive traffic to our website when we launch. We had a website before, and at one point we hit 70,000 on alexa, down to 300,000, and now they don't even rank us. Mainly direct Hits - we have a very good domain name. We drew up a new spec sheet, and redesigned the thing top to bottom. We will launch before Christmas - hopefully.

We have advertisers that have bought banners on our site. Does that count as backlinks? We link to bars/pubs/clubs - and we have an agreement to partner with a few large club sites.

I don't understand a thing. And I am completely relying on my development team for feedback; but they look @ me like I'm some kind of tech dufus. At this point I will probably hire an Search Engine Optimization guy to walk me through basic terms and methods for SEO. I'm in the dark cuz I'm an Ad and Marketing guy, trying to start a .com. Just looking for feedback from this forum.
