Post What Was The Best Thing You’ve Ever Done For Your Website? - Entrepreneur Poll

It’s time for another poll here at Young Entrepreneur!

This month our question is: What Was The Best Thing You’ve Ever Done For Your Website?

If you’re a regular reader you would have noticed that the blog (Young Entrepreneur Blog - Small Business & Entrepreneurs Blog ) has been given a significant facelift today and it’s already made a big difference on how I write and manage the posts.

What is the best thing that you’ve ever done? Was it a design face lift? Hiring a SEO company? Starting a social media campaign?

I would love to hear your thoughts so we can put together a comprehensive list of ideas and suggestions for those entrepreneurs who are starting up!

You can cast your vote by visiting the blog at: What Was The Best Thing You’ve Ever Done For Your Website? - Entrepreneur Pol or by commenting below!

The best thing I did was come up with a regular posting schedule and stick to it. I found that if I kept up regular posts traffic gradually increased - especially search engine traffic due to all the new content.

Regular content also kept visitors coming back as they new there would always be something fresh to read

"Self Branding" via (visual/Audio) i.e. Youtube, blogs, etc...
I've learned the hard way that in business People join People, not opportunities.

Put another way; Opportunities= Nice looking Car, People/Sponsor= Engine.
Without an engine, you're left with a beautiful car to look at thats parked/goes nowhere!

With that said, people want to know the REAL you and who they are getting in business with. So having a video/audio helps because they get to see what and who they are getting involved with...

Last week I asked you what the best thing was that you’ve ever done for your website in our latest Entrepreneur Poll and you responded with some great comments!

So far the top replies are:

    - Getting a website co-founder
    - Using a SEO-friendly blogging platform
    - Re-designing / overhauling my blog
    - Rewriting website code in compliant XHTML
    - Using Twitter
    - Outsourcing the website creation
    - Moving blog from a free to paid template
    - Using StumbleUpon
    - Leveraging a social media campaign
    - Creating a blog off of my website
    - Coming up with a regular blog posting schedule
    - Using video and audio for branding purposes

What do you think of the list so far? Do you agree or disagree with any of the points being made? What have you done with your website that has really made a big difference?

I’d love to get your feedback to build a useful list of suggestions for other web entrepreneurs who are trying to bring in more business online.

Please leave your suggestions by commenting on our blog at: What Was The Best Thing You’ve Ever Done For Your Website? - Entrepreneur Poll Update

I re-established my site, which used to be primarily content based, to have a social networking aspect to it. This made the user feel as though they are more in tuned with the site and usability went up drastically.

    Red face

A growing disillusionment with life in the corporate world has resulted in a migration towards internet entrepreneurism and the dream of someday being able to enjoy a greater degree of financial freedom, leading to a much higher quality of life. Now that the personal computer has become an essential part of most households in the civilized world, the home office has become a viable phenomenon. When you combine that with the exciting new advances in internet technology, it becomes apparent why more people than ever are now willing to start their own internet home business, or participate .

Could not agree more. Content is king, and I'm not saying that because I have a company that writes content for sites. It is BECAUSE content is so important that I started one.

Posting articles/blogging seems to be working for the sites I run. After that always making sure SEO is good and trying to garner some good backlinks from other related websites

The biggest thing I've done for my website wasn't really done on my website. I bought a MailChimp account to send mass marketing emails to members to learn about different events going on over the weekend.

I really do need to keep the content fresh though. I'm working on adding photo galleries to the site, but I have news articles up and going and not alot of content to add to it.. :-/
