The best things I ever did were spend time learning about SEO and made sure I planned ahead properly so I was well ranked when seasonal trends came around.

Also, Google Analytics has been a great addition to our site. Much better than any of the stats packages I has used previously.

Well, I use it and help many others with their businesses by installing a lead capture form of local business websites. That way the business has captured a prospects or buyers info, so now they can pre-sell them and sell them over and over again.
Any website that is NOT collecting info by offering the visitor something of value is leaving loads of cash on the table.
I do this for local businesses and make 1000's per month by sending out their emails and specials.

    Participating in Industry Events

One of the best things we have done so far is participate as sponsors in a large consumer sustainability event. We presented on diffferent business related topics, signed up a ton of new members and learned what people are looking for in terms of content and services on our site. We are continuing to exhibit at industry events.

The best thing was to develop our own unique process to use the Internet to market our own site. Please check out our Unique Network Marketing concept at theB2Bpeople.com and theB2Bflyer.com.

These sights also have a unique SEO property about them. I have taken Ramona Carvajal from a mild office person to a B2B entrepenuer. Just search her on the Internet. Now that she has credibilty people are listening and coming to her. The more you give the more you get. I have some investors that have pulled back since last year when the market crashed but are still interested and working on ways to get money to me. While I wait my goal is to get one B2B people site in every state. Contact us if you would like to learn how we do it. Just Google "The B2B People" and contact Ramona Carvajal

The best thing I have done... was got away from Adwords and went with direct advertisments that I have complete control over. And some of them were affiliate products which basically gave me a 300% increase on that one part of my sales.
