sk24iam- The strategy you've chosen is probably not the best. Randomly following people in the hopes that you'll get followed back is a flawed system. You will get followers with Auto-follow set up, but that's probably it. On top of that, the people that make up your "followers" was artificially created, thereby decreasing the likelihood that they are even remotely interested in what you have to say.

It is best to continue tweeting "good stuff" - your tweets are interesting. People will follow you because they like you. You can grow your followers by engaging people personally and encouraging people to RT your messages. Promote your twitter acct on your site, your business card, email signature, etc

There are many ways I get followers... I just created my twitter.com/ChaoticFate like three days ago, and have 25 followers. None of whom I added, but added me. Out of those 25, 20 are niche related. So how did I do this? One of the biggest ways is to give good content, and be shown as a leader in your field. This will make people Retweet your stuff and that has the potential to reach thousands of people you might not have been able to get before. Another good way is to have your twitter account in your signature in forums you participate in.

    Twitter for Business

The bottom line with using Twitter is if you tweet great stuff (great links, thoughts, blog posts) and engage in the conversation (replies, retweets) then people will follow you. You become and expert and your credibility builds.

    Here's some things to try:
    • Find high profile blogs and write an article including your Twitter name
    • Reach out to people you like - authors, webmasters, clients
    • Leverage other's credibility in helping you build your own brand

Do just one of these things and I guarantee you'll have an increase in followers before you know it. Oh - provided your content is good.

    Content is still king.
