SEO marketing is among the most important home business strategies. Most, if not all, online businesses rely on SEO for their business. Still, like any other process, method or procedure, SEO marketing has both its advantages and its disadvantages.
The most common reason for initiating SEO marketing is, well, to be seen. Any and every business strives for this, otherwise it doesn’t make money and grow. What good is a business that doesn’t attract that which it seeks? Businesses situated in search engines will definitely be found and “hit” by those seeking the business, especially if the said business is positioned anywhere within the first five pages of the SEO list. Searchers do not like , or have the time, to sift through umpteen pages of links that literally count in the thousands or hundreds of thousands, so those sites that can be seen at the very beginning are likely, as typically is the case, to get viewed more times than those farther on down the list. Likewise, those sites who attract the most “hits” are shifted up toward the top of the list. Any site located on the first page are usually the most successful.
Another benefit of SEO marketing is indicative to reputation. Those business websites located on any SEO list is likely to be among the “crème-of-the-crop” of all of the online businesses in a particular field. This is likely because of popularity due to steady, ongoing traffic and a high count of “hits.” Those businesses with the most “hits” are deemed the more valuable and respected. For this reason, SEO marketing serves to create a positive image for online businesses.
Still, the drawbacks exists, such as the case of heavy competition. Yes, businesses can and do thrive on competition, but an overload of stress can come about to those business websites situated close together onm the first few pages of an SEO list. If one business site is continuously disregarded over others, that suggests something lacking that the others have, and that casts a given business site in a negative light. This is a random and unpredictable occurrence, of course, but it can still hurt regardless. How? Well, for one thing, that particular site in question will be pushed farther and farther on down the list as its competitors rack up the “hits” as time progresses. Online businesses must work extra hard consistently to maintain their position on that first SEO page.
Consider also what has been suggested above, that those at the middle or end of an SEO list. These business websites don’t stand a chance because they are never seen or visited. This spells doom for businesses that are just beginning and do not have any or significant “traffic experience” or exposure as indicated by the high “hit” count, which is what gets an online business on the SEO in the first place. This Catch-22 can trap new online businesses who are struggling as a result, even if they are at the tail end of the SEO list.
For newcomers to Internet marketing, SEO marketing can be both good and bad, which is why affiliate programs and advertising online are preferred for such business. SEO is necessary for success, but at the right time.
