A backlink is a link to your website. PR is a metric provided by Google that indicates how important your website seems to be. There are a lot of things you can do to improve it, but one rule that covers them all: make a website that visitors love and they want to tell the whole world about it.

Hey I use a few different ways to get ranked in google but i was wondering, how important is the url in getting search engine optimization as oposed to the content, links, bookmarkes pages etc.? I guess what I'm asking is is it vital to have your keyword in the URL?

As with any other SEO factor, you can get high rankings for a certain keyword even if you don't have the keyword in your URL. However, this is one of the most important factors to get high rankings.

So instead of having a URL that looks like http://www.whatever.com/index.php?catid=505&prodid=225 change it to http://www.whatever.com/shoes/nike

    Hope it helps.

I've gotten my business ranked on the first page of google, but how can I keep it there and continue to move up? I've seem to hit a road block. I am in a very small niche, and basically have come across our one main competitor.

You're welcome. It's hard to advise what to do in your case because I don't know what your website is.

Let me see if I got this right. You promote several companies on one page but only a few of them pay you and the others don't and you don't want to give free exposure to those that don't pay you?

    Did I get it right?

lol.. basically yes... at the same time I'm trying to maximize my short term capital gains though PPC... while maximizing long term site value by using SEO. I'm in a very competitive niche where the average CPC is $12-$22 depending on the market. So organic appearance in Google is very important.

It makes perfect sense, I wouldn't like promoting anybody for free. Your time is valuable. What stops you from taking their names away from the optimized landing page and putting them on a different page?

Many ISPs also offer free spam filtering. If this is available and enable then after that show the report missed spam to our ISP, as it helps reduce how much spam for me and other members of the same ISP receive. If our ISP does not offer spam filtering then how can i avoid spam.
