    Need Some Help...Please

So, I really need some help driving traffic to my website, and getting my page rank up. I know there are TONS of info on this very site on how to do that, but my problem is I don't understand most of it. I am terrible with website stuff, SEO, Keywords..all that other fun stuff...I know what most of it means, but I have NO idea how to turn around and make them work for my site. If I had any extra money, I would just pay someone to do it for me...but business is slow right now, and there isn't a lot of extra anything going around....sooo...If you can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. I'd even be willing to trade some stuff from my store if someone wants to go ahead and just do whatever it is that need to be done with my site themselves, instead of teaching me how to do it...either way...just let me know...I really need some help, and hope to get a better page rank soon.

There was a pagerank update Friday. Don't focus on that too much though. Focus on getting traffic, I had numerous PR0 sites that were at the top for somewhat competitive terms. All of my sites were optimized with the service I am offering this very forum.

To really get in the game you need to spend a lot of time learning it up or have a small budget to invest in SEO with the right people.

Seomoz.org has beginner guides etc. to give you introductions on many of the most important factors that affect rankings.

    Good luck.

The first thing you should do is change your signature link to a real link.... But change the text to an important keyword such as "Goth Clothing" and the link should lead to your website. This is SEO 101.

That right there is a small but important factor of "off site seo".

The other is "on site seo"

Anyways... if you want to have an actually effective and long lasting seo build for your site - it's going to cost you a lot more than your willing to give... Not to mention how long it will take.

Learn it yourself... Not so difficult with some research - just very time consuming.

But remember, seo is not a one time thing where you can just do it once and expect the world. Effective seo must be constantly updated, changed for as long as your website exists.

That's not true at all. There are a lot of old crusty sites which haven't been updated in years ranking for all kinds of things. The basic principles of white hat SEO have not changed much - do it right the first time and you don't always have to obsess over every algorithm shift.

    KKoher,

If you will spend $100 and go through Aaron Wall's training course, as well as discuss SEO on the private forum there (where you can talk directly to two of the biggest names in SEO), I think you'll be happy with the investment. My signature has a link.

SEO is great for getting traffic in from search engines... but that's the thing. It's only for traffic from search engines.

I think you may have better luck promoting your site to certain parts of the gothic community, and then letting a bit of word of mouth do the rest of the trick.
If you can get people talking about your site on major hubs, such as getting one of the better known Suicide Girls to give you a plug, having an article on Vampire Freaks, etc. Then you can expect a major spike in traffic, and it won't even be driven by the search engines.

This in turn will get them talking about your site, and linking to it. THAT will be much better for the SEO of your site than you could hope to achienve on your own.

SEO, PPC, and SEM are all great, but Social Media is free and it will help you more than them all.

Google Social Media tips and tactics. Read as much as you can, then you will learn. There is no exact strategy on how to do it because depending on you, your business, and demographic there are a plethora of ways to engage your customers.

Let me know if this helps, however this is the best way to get you found in search engines. Get yourself on EVERY social network and be ACTIVE!

I'm with Harvey here, for your particular niche def. a good strat. to be involved with your community.

About the comment above getting links from social media isn't a bad route to help your SEO in the long run but as for traffic from the social media realm it converts like poop.

    I really like HarveyJ's post.

In some niches, there are not opportunities like that - but in yours that is a great strategy. Sites centered around things like religion, lifestyle, tech, etc., where there is a strong online community of blogs, information sites, forums, etc can do very well.

I am new to SEO , but i am learning pretty quick, i suggest reading the archives on this site. I also recommend that you read forums such as digital point, which has tons of information on SEO.

    good luck.

    Hi,
Firstly concentrate on Off page to get traffic.
This can be done by Directory submission, social book marking, press release,...
Concentrate on targeted keywords and all this based on that keywords as keeping them as titles. Then in few days you will see your site in the first pages of google then automatically traffic will generate.Participate in forums by giving the url of the site as signature.I think putonyourgoggles as a way to beat the google slap and get great quality score
