Well, as you already write reviews, maybe it's a idea to write articles about this reviews too (should be more detiled offcourse). These articles you can post at Ezine Article Submission - Submit Your Best Quality Original Articles For Massive Exposure, Ezine Publishers Get 25 Free Article Reprints , and these can give some traffic.

SEO is probably your best bet.

If you want to get crazy, you could also do some real world advertising -- off-line.

You could also try doing some promotions like having local businesses put up posters/flyers for your site and encourage people that visit their business to review them there.

Also, if you did want to work with some local businesses, you could run a contest with them that one person that reviews them within a specific time frame would win a gift certificate or prize. The contest would benefit your site by generating awareness and their business by giving them some positive online buzz.

Businesses that don't have large online presences already -- very local -- might be the best route for making this work.

yeah but search engine optimisation can be as easy as setting up a squidoo lens and liberally linking to your site through it... use relevant keywords in the headline, etc and piggy back on their success... plus it will rank for inbound links and help ranking

Don't forget to actually check out what Quantcast has to say about the demographics that your site actually appeals to.
Just because you think a certain sort of person is using your site doesn't actually means that's who is.
Either increase the appeal of your site to the main demographic group already going there, or retarget it to those that you DO want.
