Start with one thing (optimizing your own site)...perfect it. Then move to the next thing whether it's writing articles or making videos...perfect it. Then move on to the next thing...

As an internet marketer you can get very overwhelmed with everything there is to do. Outsource as much as you can afford.

Id say you need to find a niche and then be very good at what you do. If you cant code PHP, HTML, CSS, do some nice URL rewrites in .htaccess and some SEO optimization on your own, then you have a much smaller chance of successfully growing and building your online business.

in terms of marketing, id say the cheapest way is link exchanges and re-directing typo traffic to your web-site.

This is going to be a repeat already.

Pick something and master that biotch! Stop jumping around like a kid in a candy store. Pick something, perfect it, put it on autopilot, find something else to repeat the process on.

I say use all of the resources that you can. Optimize your site, use All-in-One SEO if you use Wordpress, combine using Su.Pr and Twitter, along with Digg, Stumbleupon, Alexia, and others. Throw everything AND the kitchen sink at it. Give it 2-3 months, and see which method is getting you the best traffic. Tone it down with the others and focus on the one.

Also- a hidden gem some of you may not know about:

BlogClicker - an alternative to link exchanges. Visit other people's blogs, get credits, and they'll visit yours.

Always have the end consumers in mind not the profit or your actual buyers (if their not end consumers - they sell it on./. Wholesellers and etc).

If you focus on the end consumers the above two will come automatically.

One phrase that fits perfectly with my business is " When the people lead, the leaders follow".

I am in the recruitment industry.... For me that means.... Where the job seekers and candidates go, the employers and recruiters are sure to follow. So the main thing I need to focus on is to try and be attractive to them and the rest will come automatically.

i am from a marketing background, not really into the internet marketing..
from what i practise & applied in marketing, the most important thing is to:
    Define & Know Your Customers/Prospects..
Then give what they want to them in a manner they are most happy to receive it..

    Amazing Internet Marketing Tip #1

    Use eBay.

eBay handles more searches per day than Google (yes its true!).

The majority of people searching on eBay are buyers looking for a product.

So sell your product there or better still, sell a feeder product on eBay and feed the buyer into your sales funnel.

These are very good tips. I never realized Ebay pulls in more searches then Google.

Now, I just have nothing to sell on Ebay is all that goes with my site!
