Google PageRank export/toolbar update seems to be in progress

Noticed that one of my brand new sites (indexed about 2 weeks ago) is now showing PR4... a few other sites have seen PR changes, so there is definitely an export/toolbar update going on.

Check your sites and inner pages, you may see an update over the next few days as well.

Did Matt Cutts say anything about it? I know sometimes he will announce it. This one is also way ahead of their usual "schedule" ... they have usually been 3-4 months apart.

Yeah... a site that's not even a month old hitting PR4 is not bad... a couple of other sites saw bumps, I saw a drop on one, but I'm really disappointed that my primary site didn't see a bump. I could care less about PR from a ranking perspective, it doesn't make a lot of difference. But it lends credibility sometimes when you have higher PR.

Yeah I actually had a site with no incoming links jump to a 4 and is pretty new. I had great content but thats about it.

Every one of my sites saw a 1-3 PR increase.

You mean no links as in zero links, or just a few?

My new one that went to PR4 does not deserve a 4 IMO... my primary stayed at 3, and it has a lot more link juice than this new one does. Weird. It has to be a really high 3 though. Probably came within a hair of 4.

    As in 0

Mine doesn't deserve the 4 either. Primary went from 1 to 2. A couple of my blogs went to 3s.

Sure you didn't buy some old domains and 301 them to your new site?

There is no way in hell you have PR4 - or PR anything - with no links. Just hope that the glitch lasts long enough for you to sell some advertising before they catch it.

Nope no 301ing of domains but that's a great thing I didn't think of. Maybe a previous owner did... checking archive.org to see if there was ever anything on my domain before.

Doesn't matter - if the domain expired, or it was sold and the sale was not handled discreetly, the link equity probably got reset anyway. They love to catch guys paying for old domains and then making all those old links worthless.

As we both know, if you aren't showing anything in a link: query on Yahoo, you don't have any links.
