Question New and could use a bit of advice..

Hey everyone, I'm Shadowkid and as you can probably tell, I only just joined today (so go easy on me).

I'm 15 years old and I'm incredibly interested in starting my own business. I want someone to take me seriously in the business world. Leomonade stands can only really get you so far..

I have considered a number of things. I know how to use photoshop, create graphics/logos however I don't know about the legalities about offering a service like this over the internet at the age of 15. I think there may be some legality which states that I have to be 18 or something similar.

Now I am seriosuly thinking about starting a portrait photography business. I have a nice canon camera and my parents own an even nicer one which they allow me to borrow. I have photoshop and often mess around on there with photo editing so I do know what I'm doing. I have done some work experience at a photography studio and am going back there for some extra work next week. So this is a possibility.

Then I was thinking about ebay. A few people have mentioned about buying certain items from ebay or wholesalers and re-selling on ebay. I'd want to know what items tend to sell best on ebay, where it's usually best to buy from and how effective could this become?

Thankyou and any help/advice is greatly appreciated,
    shadowkid

    Shadow Kid,

You write very well. Pursue your passion. If it is photography then start by getting a good portfolio quickly. This may mean doing deals to get the clients for a start. Then start using some of your internet savvy to market your portfolio. The sky is the limit.

Thank you chicon. I think a portfolio is deffinatly the first step to be taken really since I will be needing examples for any advertising that needs to be done either now or in the near future. I'm planning to mainly advertise locally just to get started with flyers, posters etc. However, I am also using the internet since I'm in the process of building a site to promote my photos. I still need to come up with a name for this business venture and have a lot of planning to do but this is sounding like the best option.
    Thanks for your views

    Thanks Guy,
I have been interested in business for a few years now but have just not had enough knowledge to do anything about it. A few years and a whole lot more experience later and I'm now finding myself at the stage where I am able to start something.

Yeah, I know it won't be easy and not everything will be positive however I'm willing to give this a real shot and want to see what happens from it.

I'd like to know a little more about a possible ebay reselling business too. Not to take both on at the same time but so that I know a little more about it. I have no real knowledge of reselling on ebay and whether you need anything special (legality and permit wise) to buy cheap and sell higher on ebay. Any info on that would be brilliant if anyone knows.

    Thank you,
    shadowkid

I know a lot of guys like you. There are some microstock sites that don't care what age you are, they don't even ask. For all they know you can be 3. You would be great at that, if you're good with photoshop. Check out my site below to see my work.
