I guess we are both trying to say. You can't rely on remote service alone. You need to be able to go on the job scene physically as well. That's why I am telling you to be open to traveling to jobs also.
Ok. I get it. If the issue escalates being the scope of remote assistance, then there needs to be a technician to resume to fix.

Problem: I don't have a car. I used to have a car. And I wasn't fond of making house calls. Time. Fuel. I'd rather not do it, even though I could charge more for making a house call.

Possible Solution:
Why do I work with some of the more reputable PC repair/support firms and arrange affiliate commissions on the referrals I send them in case I can't remotely fix the client's issue. For example, if the issue comes down to a physical type of resolution, I can call up my "friends" at XYZ PC Repair and have a technician resume the fix by picking up the PC or having the client pick it up.

The baseline is that I don't want to handle/manage house calls or drop ins. I'd rather earn a few bucks (as in the form of a referral fee or affiliate commission) having someone else do it.

I should mention that applies to residential services, not small businesses or startups.
