    Creating a Website

    Hi All,

Im looking at building a website...and in my researching found a site called wix dot com?
Anyone heard of it? Any suggestions? Is it better to just buy a program like dreamweaver?

    Thank you!!!

    Jade

Jade if you're only looking for a handful of sites especially business ones you'd probably find it wouldn't be worthwhile self building. If you do still want to though dream weaver is an excellent although somewhat costy tool, you can get a free 30 day trial from the adobe website. Notepad plus plus is also a good tool but i would be more inclined to not recommend it for beginners.

Jade if, all things considered, the time, the personal expense and the potential results, you decide to hire a professional send me a pm, or even if you just want some more advice feel free to get in touch

I agree with Tom and think you should hire a professional. Many people build websites with no knowledge of SEO, and end up not getting the results they want. I agree that the time, knowledge, learning curve, and software would be more expensive than perhaps paying for a professional. If you need any help, or would like to hire a professional, please feel free to e-mail me. Best of luck to you.

Notepad++ won't be helpful if you don't know HTML/CSS. Dreamweaver also serves as a What You See Is What You Get web editor as well. If you don't know web coding language, sites like wix can be a decent alternative for very basic websites.

Wix is certainly a good service, the one thing that I will point out is that free accounts have some huge banner on, so I'd go for one of their paid packages.

But as far as business sites go, if your site is kept up-to-date then your likely to have customers coming in.
