I finally received my big break and was able to obtain a job in the Telecom VoIP networking field a few months ago. Even though I don't have a ton of experience by any means I see the potential in starting a business based on this industry. I'm brainstorming ideas now on how I called start my own business on the side using this technology. Was there anyone in this field with suggestions on where to start or basic business ideas based on VoIP? I'm thinking about starting a company deploying open-source VoIP solutions for customers or some type of managed online service such as Voice to Email.

The biggest obstacle is that I don't know the technology inside and out yet but I will learn a lot more over the years through either my job or through deploying the tecnhology. I figure that maybe I can offer my service for a large discount to the first potential customers who's willing to be guinea pigs for my service. What do you all think?
