Quit my job

I did it. I quit my job yesterday. Decided to go out and try freelance for a while. I've got a couple of things lined up and am really excited to be out on my own. I can't lie I'm a little nervous too.

So if anyone out there needs some Web Devlopment help, let me know. If you're a good designer, I migt also like to talk to you, as I always need someone to design any work I pull in.

By the way I code C# and have plenty of eCommerce and social networking sites under my belt.

Cheers,
JM

Why did you quit your job without having work lined up? That doesn't seem like the best plan. Are you young? Do you still ive w/ mom and/or dad? Cuz then I guess it's OK because you haven't as many bills, but it still seems like a bad plan. You should prioritize things. It's a tougher job market for any professional positions these days. Even to get into a union gig to be a janitor at this point is n't always so easy.

I do have a couple of things lined up. I'm 30 and live with my girlfriend. The market for developers in Chicago is red hot right now. I had been trying at my job to hire one for about 4 months with no success. I also got offered anothe rjob out of the blue making 30% morte than I was making. If I cannot continue to line up work, then I will work with one of the local temp agencies, where I can draw $50-$60/hr on a day to day basis.
If It still isn't working out, I'll get a job.

Hope it works out for ya, I tried quiting my previous job for my last venture but I eventually ran out of capital. I'm trying a new approach of doing my own business part-time, working full-time, and studying for IT certs. A lot of work right now but hopefully it pays off. I did it this way so that if my venture doesn't work out I'll have experience on top of certifications in IT so if nothing else I can move into a way better paying job.

RE: Quitting your job

Let me ask you a stupid question?

Do you have enough money to cover you for the next 3 months?

I have about $12,000 worth of solid work lined up and a few other prospects. I also got offered 2 full time jobs, which I am resisting taking!!!
