Many GSM phones are Quad-Band, covers everything. The lower bands are now mostly in South and Central America, some other places. Dual SIM, Quad-Band is the way to go, but not with BBs. With Dual SIM you can have 2 networks, 2 phone numbers on one phone.

That's true, and the versatility of GSM is what rpermana needs, being that he'll be traveling around. That's what makes the Tour, Storm, 8800 perfect phones, their GSM and CDMA compatibility. Do you have a bb peteVA?

LOL! I can barely figure out the freebie Verizon gives me.

No, I sell BB refurbs, as well as lots of "China phones". To me they are just a commodity.

I had one of the originals, when they were about the size of two packs of cigarettes. Text only, with a real keyboard, basically pocket email. I was a business partner with AT&T, Bell Atlantic, GTE and Bell South at the time, selling CDPD based GPS vehicle tracking systems and Bell South gave me one. Got stolen from my booth at a Louisville Mid-America Truck Show and they never asked for it back, so I never volunteered it was gone. I did sell some subscriptions for them, so I guess they were happy. I'll admit I never thought it would develop into what it has.

Here's my BlackBerries!

Lol. You seem to know your stuff. The ones with the scrolling wheel on the side?
Wow, thats a great site you've got there! If I have a Tour, would I be able to place an ATT SIM in it, and use it strictly as GSM, through the SIM? So, like, if i have an email and texting plan through ATT, can I insert that SIM into my phone and access my ATT coverage? This has bothered me for a while

I wish I could answer that. I sell them, I don't understand them.

I'd take it by an AT&T store and see what they tell you.
