Would it be a crazy idea in this economic climate to start a Temporary Staffing Agency?

It dawned on me tonight with so many people laid off, eventually things will turn around and companies are going to be looking to hire again. I figured by starting a Temporary Staffing agency one would be able to build up a huge pool of potential employees right now, given so many talented people are looking for work.

And also given the fact companies are going to be more selective right now, they would look forward to the services a staffing agency could provide.

I would love to hear the communities feedback!

Your premise is accurate but you may find that actually placing people in employment opportunities is tougher than expected. That can turn into a reputation issue if word gets around that your agency doesn't successfully find work for people.

Its just something to consider as you look at the process.

    Thumbs up

It's a great idea! but I agree with Gitdown. I think the best startup in this time is service jobs because they will never go away...ie, daycare, cleaning..etc. Think about if our entire system broke down and we were all forced to live in small communities.... people would still need basic services. Just think about it in depth and I'm pretty sure you will come up with a basic necessity service that is in demand and that you enjoy doing/providing
