Trying to start a clothing line.

For the last couple year I've had numerous ideas and concepts and I've finally decided to start my own clothing line. I've done hours upon hours of research, and I know there is no clear cut plan to starting a clothing line. But I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice or tips regarding

1. Networking
2. Taking your designs to a manufacturer
3. Business Plans
4. Advice (Retail Store)

I'm still in the design phase, so any help would be greatly appreicated. By the way I want to start a Men's Line, first starting with t-shirts and eventually evolving into a full clothing brand.

Also if anyone has any information about possible internships or even volunteering for an established brand i would love information about that too.

I'm not looking for someone to lay a plan out there for me, I'm just hoping someone with some insight will be willing to offer some advice.
