Starting a marketing firm, how much should I charge?

Hi everyone I'm currently in the start-up stage of creating a business with some friends, we are all currently in college and I'm working on the business plan but I have no idea how much I should charge for our services. Our target market is small businesses and I don't want to charge too much to too little for our services because if we charge too much businesses can't afford it and if we charge too little they'll think it's a crap job. So what should I charge working as a student marketing firm?

Like anything else, it depends on your market and your product. I charge $85 an hour but I have lots of experience. Most marketing firms in my area charge $100 - $150.

You need to look around and find out what your competition is charging. Then, you need to lower it based on not having much real-world experience yet. Once you've gotten some paying work that you can show to prospects, you can start edging your rates up.

What marketing segment are you interested in going for? What type of services?

I'm in out-of-home advertising, apart from the research and consultancy all is based on CPM impressions.
