    Starting a catering service

I am trying to start up a new business in the catering line. Am not a caterer but an accountant but i have the flare for organising events and I want to put my right foot forward and see how it plays out for me.
Initially, my target market would be children (0-16 years) and the market would be in Nigeria. I had noticed that most birthdays parties held for children are not exactly planned to suit them.
My expansion plan into other events planning and hosting would be based on the success of this initial stage.
On one side am thinking of renting a space and setting it up before acquiring my own building which would cost a lot of money .
Could any one please enlighten me on the prospect of this plan and how much it might like cost?
Should I ask for a loan or should I go into partnership with someone else in that field?
    Thanks

I would suggest getting a part time job with a catering company in the area. You could then learn the trade before getting into your own business. The number one thing you need to do before starting a company is research. With out the "core" knowledge of the industry you're not going to be very profitable.
