    Start-up question-technical expertise

I think I have several creative and unique ideas that have much potential; however, I don't possess the technical know-how to get them started. My ideas require engineering expertise (RFID technology, website & software programming) that are a bit over my head. Has anyone else been in or are in this position? How did you overcome this obstacle? Did you speak to someone with the requisite technical knowledge? If so, how did you know you could trust them?

    Thanks for the help.

Any creative and unique ideas have to be researched first, and the feedback here would help you identify your market potential, but if it is so exclusive as to need patent protection first, be careful. I work in RFID industry, and this is an exploding market where technology can be used in many different products.

    Good luck to all, Mike

yah sure this happens to all founders
..we all require resources which are outside of our control..whether it's capital, expertise, office space or other types of resources
the method to achieve access to these things is to do what founders do and pitch for access
in practical terms it means that in order for you to access engineering talent, you need to create informational leverage...which is a stack of papers about an inch thick full of signatures from people who have promised to buy your product when it's ready for delivery
if you have this stack of paper you will achieve access to the resources
to put together this stack of paper, get off the net, get on the phone and start prospecting, if you fail in this directive, you will fail in achieving access. it's easier than rocket science
