Small Business Devl Ctr

I am meeting with a Small Business Development consultant tomorrow about possible business prospects. Not sure what to expect out of these people. Anyone have any prior experiences? Please advise. Thanks.

If you want a clear answer, you need to provide a clear question.

What are you talking about? What small business development consultant? What business prospects are you talking about? A new business, an existing business? Ideas to find a business? Please provide more specific information if you expect anyone to offer advice.

I am meeting a small business advisor/consultant from the SBA. Just moved to a small town of about 24000 pop, looking to open business. So I am meeting w/ the sba advisor from the small town to help me identify potential business ideas/needs/prospects for the small town. I don't know what to expect to come out from this meeting. So if you/anyone has prior experiences w/ these types of meetings, please share.. thanks.

If you have specific questions for them and maybe make a list, it will be a productive meeting. If you are unsure about what kind of industry to enter or the type of business to start, it might end up being a fruitless meeting. These advisors at SCORE/SBA coach you along with what you are already trying to accomplish and they point you in a certain direction but most times it stops there.

Just consider that your first step and then use that meeting to do your research of your community. Ask them for some data on demographics also. Email me if you have more questions. Good luck!
