Selling Illuminated Advertising Within Bicycle Wheels
This video shows what I'm talking about.
YouTube - spokepov3-2
You can program text, logos, and pretty much anything else you want.
It only works well at night so the bikers would have to target the night life. You could have a team of 5 bikers riding around, handing out leaflets, samples. Do you think clubs, coffee shops, bars, restaurants, cinemas, etc, would go for this?

I think local businesses, and hopefully national corporations, will buy into this concept because it is a very environmentally friendly form of advertising. My only worry is whether bars or resteraunts would want to be associated with this type of advertising. It is admitedly a little dorky looking and bikes don't exactly make you think of food. Nonetheless, it is an attention getter.

From what I could find in quick research it looks like you can get the kit for $100-200. I think that if you market areas where nightlife is decent, you could definitely get some companies to advertise. Companies are always looking for something different and lately, the greener the better.
I would suggest trying to get a few prospective clients lined up before purchasing anything. But I think it is a decent idea.
It definitely depends on where you live. In the city that I live in, we have multiple professional sport teams, 2-3 areas that have heavy night-life and we're very close to multiple beaches where hundreds of thousands of people flock to throughout the year (again with high traffic night life).

Thanks for your reply.
Definitely the more night life the better.
It would actually cost around $300-$600 for each bike depending how many bars you want on each wheel.

Not a bad idea. The bar areas in DC are packed at night. You could have bikers riding around advertising drink specials. If there were only 36 hours in a day I would be all over this idea.

Don't really think it would work. Maybe they would put it in a commercial.
