Please Explain LLC

What exactly is an LLC, and can I just add that to my new company's name or should I have to register somewhere?

A L.L.C. is a legal form of business ownership that must be registered with the government. There are many companies that can help you file the papers to become an LLC. The best is probably legalzoom.com

It is very easy to file an LLC, you can even fill the forms out online. Just go to your states secretary of state homepage and look under business forms.
