i just found this place yesterday. i do have an idea for a business that i bellive to be very lucrative. it is more like an invention. anyone who is ready to help me out or learn more, just email me. i was wondering the necessary steps to take in buying stocks and and also to get a patent for the idea i brought up earlier.

The government website is a good link. There are also companies that do the whole thing for you. You give them your idea they tell u the ways to patent it and all and they get it done for you. Im not sure how much they charge but google comes it handy The stock market is huge and again I wouldnt advise on going at it by yourself based on reading material online. It might cost you a bit but get a professional advise.

Have you written a business plan for your venture? If you are looking to get a patent you can call a lawyer, use legalzoom.com or call a place like invent help.

When it comes to buying stocks I'm a little confused as to what you are asking. You asked this question in the same sentence where you were talking about your new venture. If you simply want to buy stocks you can call a broker or open an account at Scottrade.com or Fidelity.com. If you are looking to raise capital for your business you will first need to write a business plan and then solicit for investors.

If you ever have any questions please let me know. I'm in the process of applying for my first patent and I've been trading stocks for 10+ years (I will not offer advice on which stocks to buy, but I can show you how to open an account).

Welcome to YE, I recommend TD Ameritrade I have been with them several years and they are pretty good but of course there are many out there that I havent tried...As far as the invention have you dont a patent search, if you havent that is your first step. I wouldnt go so far as to solicit others and offer your idea until it is patented (at least provisionally) then you can discuss your product/idea to negotiate funding partnership etc. Other than that I would talk to a lawyer they have attorney/client confidentiality agreements. good luck.
