New Buisness idea ..export to USA from INDIA ..pls suggest

Hi friends ,

I am planning to start export buisness from india to USA .I know already there is lot of competition in the market in this buisness .I still keep on thinking what goods or commodity should one target for .There are lot of things in the mkt but i still keep on thinking what goods would be best to export from india to USA for which there is not much stiff competition and one could gain good profits .So please suggest if anyone has innovative idea to share.

Two things that I can think of that would do well:

1. Good inexpensive furniture.
2. Mass production of children's toys.

Unfortunately, you'll have to deal with shipping on these. That is what initially turned me off internet marketing but I managed to find a company that handles all the "back office" work. Much, much easier that way.

if youre in california id say bongs or better yet vapourizers. its just a matter of time until the government figures out how to capitalize from marijuana then it'll become legal and regulated like alcohol.. at which point the market will explode for all marijuana and smoking devices.

..and even at this time i dont think its too bad. cali im almost 100% sure has already legalized it.

I can't recommend any specific product, I'd just like to offer some suggestions as to what should be done to get a share of the market.

I have sold many products from India and have only one thing to say about them. You may not like what I have to say, but I tell it like it is.

They have the worst packaging I have ever seen. Flimsy brown corrugated boxes with wicked staples that will tear the flesh. Fine confetti like excelsior that makes large, hard to clean messes. No graphics on the packages whatsoever. The goods can be superior to everything else in the world, but the packaging, the retail graphics (if any) are worse than third world.

Goods from China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia are so much better packed that retail buyers will pick them up and walk to the checkout station with them, even if they are not as good as the India goods. Items are packed in custom fit Styrofoam, not messy excelsior. Goods from India are packed as they were when the country was an English colony, even pre-World War II.

I am not saying this as a personal assault, on you or your country. I have a number of friends from India and they will be the first to agree. If you want to compete in the global marketplace, you must get your packaging / on-shelf marketing up to world class standards. I understand you as an individual can do little about this, but when choosing what to offer, find something that will not tear the flesh of an unsuspecting buyer.
