I currently work at verizon wireless, but have always wanted to start up my own business doing something that i like. Does anyone have any idea of what is hot in the market or what would be a great start to start earning an extra income on the side as far as business matters. I really dont want to do a home based business opportunity because i have failed at everyone that i tried. I am also willing to work out a partnership. THERE ARE NO BRANDED GOODS IN CHINA! You can't buy Games, Consoles, Clothes or mobiles from China as the real thing. If you do then you are dealing in unlicensed goods and that's a criminal offense in most countries. Now Hong Kong maybe but what company in these times would make phones for Apple and then sell some on the cheap out the back door?

Sorry but for those wanting name-brand goods PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay away from China because they will be fake and you may get your goods stopped at Customs, Destroyed and possibly arrested.

You reminded me of an idea I had a couple years ago. I don't think I will get the chance to try it out but maybe you can. I am a hobbyist treasure hunter, I love it. The thrill of finding things is great. Children love it even more so here is the scenario:

A treasure hunting store in the mall that sells metal detectors, accessories, books, cool treasure related toys for kids like pirate coins and costumes, etc. The catch is that in the middle of the store is a giant sandbox where you bury pennies and nickels and things like that and people can come in and give it a try. Kids will literally DRAG their parents in the store to try and find "pirate treasure". While your helpful store personnel are entertaining the kids, the parents will be checking out the metal detectors and getting curious. People get that "bug" and they make purchases on a whim.

It seems like a great idea to me because that product line has never really been marketed to this demographic. So yeah, just an idea
