Is this realistic? Veterans?

I am considering a start up that is based on US Veterans and the support they need after there service to the country. Here's my thought.
Start a Service business that is 100% sub-contracted out to Veteran owned business's We could provide virtually any service that I can find a Vet owned biz to do. For example I would probably focus on cleaning services such as Carpets, pools, landscapes, ect.

The Marketing would be based off the yellow support your troops ribbon and I feel would pick up alot of business just due to the want to help a veteran....

Is it realistic to think that I can form a business that subcontracts to vets for a commission? Do you think they will be willing to pay me a commission? I would provide marketing and scheduling.

Being a Disabled Marine, I am trying to find something that is within my physical limitations and this could be perfect.

I'm fairly sure people will be willing to pay you commissions if you send them business, but I'm not sure there is a market for hiring specific disabled veterans.

There's a difference between referral and sub-contract. Which are you interested in? I don't know much about veteran-owned businesses specifically, but I know that it's possible to start a service company where you outsource to another provider who provides the service under your brand name. Is that what you're getting at or are you strictly looking to do referrals?

Have you ever thought of a referral business? It basically works like this. You set up a phone line or website where customers come to get a referral for a certain service. Say they need carpet cleaning. They call your referral business and you provide them a free referral to a recommended service provider. The service providers pay a fee to be the only company for a specific industry that you refer customers to. I suppose instead of charging a fee you could set up a commission system but it might be hard to track every referral that converts to a sale. I know there are a lot of referral services, but I can't think of any off the top of my head that only refer to veteran-owned businesses. You may have a niche there and that type of thing may appeal to customers looking to help veterans.

I Think I may carve a niche market with Veteran thing. I know if I opened a phonebook to carpet cleaning and saw an ad about our Orginization and what we stand for, I would use the service. Veterans are known for there attention to details and hard work ethic, I feel this may give the customer an instant trust in a job well done.

Any Opinions are really appreciated, good or bad I REALLY want the feedback! Thanks,John

I'm not sure what I want to do,that's why I'm here. I am not real familiar with the referral industry or sub- contracting. I have thought on this so much it hurts... But I am not sure how to put it together. I have seen cleaning business's for sale that say the owner's just take calls and subcontract the work. I wish I new how they did it. I suppose that why you pay a premium to buy an existing business.

Nice site...I wonder how they get paid... Pay per click???

I was thinking about staying local... and just doing business in maybe a two county area. Until I developed a strong business model.
