Financial Advisor

Hi,

I have been thinking about this career path after having spoken with an Investors Group agent.

What are the pros and cons of this career, and how stable is the income as well as income possibilities of an established firm.
Is there any better investment advisory firms like Edward Jones?

Any first hand experience would be appreciated.

Both a pro and a con (depending on how you look at it) is that you might need a CFA. Getting one would probably make you more attractive to your prospects. The pro is that it is a nice title to have, the con is the costs, time and work associated with getting it.

ok, i am majoring in finance so a CFA along with an MBA was part of my future education anyways. but i'm debating whether i should own my own advisry firm and be an entrepreneur (which is what I like) or make the big bucks at an investment bank

i alsp hear there is an interest in people looking for investment advisors just because of the ways things are coming along with this economy, is this true?

i work in advisory. i'm a licensed financial planner.
it's a shit job man, don't do it, instead try sailing, event management, farming or any number of other, worthwhile occupations
