Exclamation complete noob needs your opinion:)

This is my site that I have been working on for quite some time now:

    ID Home

After so much time and money spent ... it is still not finished and i'm in the process of finding a web-designer to fix up some major mistakes (that the other designer failed to follow through with....). Any suggestions on how I could generate some income from the site while it is just sitting there...?

    cheers

first of all post your site link in your signature so we can all just click on the link and be taken to the site... internet marketers are a lazy bunch and work extremely hard at working smart... so a little thing such as going to your profile seems like an arduous task

    ID Home

alright so the way i see it... take the site down and popup a capture page instead whilst your designer is working on fixing the site... something like 'Vogue Goes Interior Design - How To Decorate Your Home Celebrity Style On A Blue Collar Budget?'... as a bonus offer them a free report or 2 (10 tips to give a room an inexpensive facelift --- and --- creating a beautiful home on a budget)... once they opt in they are automatically taken to a sales page that sells your 'Interior Design On A Budget - The Full Guide' valued at $99 (winter sale $49)... whilst they are reading the sales copy, your autoresponder has sent them the free reports and a welcome email

now you are building a targeted list that might be interested in your products/website... when you launch your site then you can add the 'free report' opt in to your homepage and keep collecting names and keep selling that 'full guide' as a bonus to your potential customers (value adding)

start writing articles and link to your website in the resource box... articles need to be generic... such as 'kitchen window makeovers you can do in an hour'... how to create summer decor in your home... Lot's of holiday cards? here's 5 fun ways to display them... etc... what this does is create backlinks and piggyback on high PR sites to create almost instant traffic (keyword targeted) and these articles will make you out as an expert and provide generic traffic for years to come

it's a simple marketing plan that can be easily implemented at a low cost and be extremely valuable... i would also send your list an article every 30 days (your autoresponder will) to keep in contact and remind them that you are an expert and that your site still exists if they are looking for decor for their home
