Thumbs up Businesses that can be started with under $1,000

What are some of them that you know that you can make some good money pursuing. I know of a few like dog poop removal and grass cutting but what are some others? I think this can be very beneficial for those without a lot of money or experience.

I think you should first evaluate the stuff you can bring to the table, esp. something you enjoy doing. E.g. if you're great at designing stuff, you can design Tshirts...esp. because plain shirts are very cheap, and you can sell them for a whole lot of profit.

Personally, I dont think the idea of brainstorming a 1000 startup is what you need to be doing, because you are going to end up with a list of ideas like "lemonaide stands" and hourly service work.

You mentioned good money, and no business that requires only 1000k is really going to bring you good money. It could, but..

So what I would do is set your goals a few years down the road from now. i.e. i dont want to have a "lemonaid stand", I want to own a chain of them. Therefore you can expand you pool of potential startups to more than what you feel you can handle at the moment.

Let me just put it this way, when i was 16, I wanted to sell retail, i love retail because i enjoy the work, direct contact with customers and the high profit margins. At that age lets say i only had about 1000, So what did i do? I started looking at what successful online retailers were doing. Im not talking about buy.com, but rather small individual companies, something i could handle, and aim towards a few years down the road. So i started buying 600$ lots of merchandise, and turning that into 1200$ in a month or so, then i purchased 1200 lots, and you can see it will grow exponentially until you hit a point where you run out of new things to sell or cant keep up with the workload.

So basically, i may just be re-iterating your thoughts, but, if this idea is something new to you, I feel it is necessary to grow a business, You aren't starting a business with 1000 in expenses, you are starting a business with 10k in expenses...... in 12 months.
