Business plan review?

I have written a business plan for a new startup idea I have. I am hesitant to post it in open forums for a review, but I really want to get some feedback on it before going to the investors. Does anyone know of a site that does business plan reviews that is confidential?

I have found that the best way to have your business plan reviewed is to have it done by someone you personally know that has been successful with business. Every entrepreneur should have some sort of a mentor, business consultant, or network of people to help them make their dreams come true. Ask around, find someone local that you could work with who has experience with businesses like yours. Chances are, if they are good, then they will know some investors as well.

Also, having a plan is great, but did you ever do a feasibility study? It is often over looked by people.

To answer your question, yes. It passes feasibility with flying colors. It is not a radical idea, it is a proven model that I have just improved upon. The idea is solid and combines a few areas that I would consider myself an expert in. I am not new to owning businesses and with my existing infrastructure I am in a unique position to start this with a fraction of the capital that my plan would normally take for most people.

The problem I face is that the people who I would trust locally to review the plan are the ones I will offer the opportunity to first, so I just want to make sure I haven't overlooked anything beforehand.

Thanks for your reply, that link to the feasibility quiz will be helpful.

In the UK we have a small business advice scheme that provides help for startup companies so maybe there is a similiar scheme in your location these normal have people that have been in business many years and they take time out to help with there wisdom and advice.Banks usually also provide a small business advice manager so it may well be a option to talk to someone about your plans.

Don't know of any online, not sure it would be trustworthy or worthwhile. Kind of like Score. I think its great that they provide free assistance, but I have personally heard from many people that the service they provide doesn't help too many people and they often don't help in critical areas (especially marketing, in which many of the advisors have outdated knowledge).

Anyways, like Robert, the only thing I would suggest is finding someone yourself that has experience. Sorry can't be of more help

Well I've given it to a few people and I think they are having a hard time staying objective.

If anyone has some time and would be into giving me some constructive criticism on it pm me.

Hey sk8- SCORE here in Boston was great for me. Also, I know things have been super hectic with the original Boston group that came out so I think after Memorial Day we will get together and we have established a system to ensure that all things that come to the meeting stay confidential and one can feel open to discuss all issues they need help with.
