I want to start a hookah lounge here in Louisville, Ky.
There is already one here, but it has awful service, and the hookah tobacco isn't good quality, and the whole place just seems dirty. Well, it is dirty. All of the equipment is old and broken, and the building is small. I feel like the only reason people go there is because its the only place in town that offers hookah in an indoor setting. The place is small, but is packed on weekend nights, even during the summer. It is also open 24/7.
I know if I opened my own lounge it would do much better that the one that is open now. For one thing, it would be clean and have working equipment. Also, I would offer different types of hookah tobacco, not just flavors. For example, the place that is open now charges $12 to use on of its hookahs. I would like to give my customers the options of flavors AND quality. I know quite a bit about hookah, and since I am in college I know what my target customers want. I would also offer Arabic and Indian foods to offer a more authentic experience. I know that this would be a huge responsibility but if I could open it, the competition would be done with.
I also know that this would be something I would need to educate myself further on, I'm not just jumping in. However, my question is, do you think that this venture is realistic, and do you think that people would invest?
If you were an investor, would you invest?
(ps, I know I will need a business plan)
Thanks,
Stephanie
