I'm thinking about beginning an affiliate based web site that offers products targeted to males between the ages 20 and 30 years old. My idea is to undergoe an aggressive guerilla marketing compaign because this target audience can be marketed to by using sports, girls, etc.

My biggest hurdle is web site development. I wouldn't want this site to look cheap so I will probably end up paying an outsider to do the job.

I'd like to set up a web site and use a similar concept seen on Gift Ideas: Christmas Gifts, Gift Baskets & Gift Cards. They sort out products by personality types and I think that is an interesting way to help customers.

I have about $2,000 in savings for this project. How much would it cost to get a professional looking affiliate site (similar to Gifts.com) up and running? I plan on sorting out and choosing all of the affiliate products myself. Should I look into a web developer who has experience with affiliate companies? Any advice is appreciated, especially from someone who has experience in this industry.
