    Advice Needed! Clothing Line Help!

    Hey Everyone!

I am currently starting a shirt company with my own designs. I am trying to keep my initial start up costs low so I am debating on a few things... Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

First, do you think it is better for me to just by the blank clothes and have someone else print them for me? Or should I purchase the clothes wholesale and then print them my self? I am a graphic designer, and have done screen printing before.

I am just trying to figure out what would be the best investment, At least if they mess it up they need to refund. If I mess it up then I am in trouble.

Any advice from someone who has maybe been in this situation before would be great.

    Thanks

    -Taylor

You should start off doing it yourself if you have the time. It is a great way to save money and really be a part of the creative process. I have a website called
www.whatcelebswear.com and work with many small brands who are up and coming! Let me know if you want any press. I like to help others!

    Press...

    Thanks allot for the offer!

I also agree that doing them myself will help me stay connected with the artistic process. As for the Press I would love some help as soon as I get things going. Thank you again.

Depending on how serious you are, buying your own equipment is ultimately the best way to start. With your own materials you can keep the costs per shirt way down.
How much do you have to start? If you don't have a enough startup money, then there is no option.

I've been working with a Screen Printing Supply company on their website and could set you up with their sales manager. But I know you'll need atleast 2-3k.

Yup, you should definitely buy wholesale and print the shirts yourself. They can save you a ton of money!
