Would this be a good idea?

I've got an online clothing company, I am looking to expand a little. So I am looking to raise some funds. I have a mailing list that we started about a month ago, its got about 35 people subscribed to it right now. But we are expecting traffic to grow a ton this month because of increased advertising. I was thinking of selling some advertising/sponsorships on the site and newsletter. Each different brand section on the site would have 1 banner (thats it nothing else) that someone could buy. And then in the newsletter there would be 2 banners. and 1 Sponsorship. The sponsorship would be right at the top where it says the company name and logo and under it, it would say something like "This month brought to you by ______________" I don't expect to bring in a lot of cash from this but its something. And anything helps. What does everyone think about this? Also if anyone interested LMK and we can talk. This would be perfect for anyone looking for teens-30s men.

I'm thinking that you would probably need at least 1,000+ subscribers to get any decent interest from advertisers, unless maybe your subscribers were extremely targeted. You have to figure that when you sent out a newsletter only a percentage of them are actually going to open it and read it. But, it's a great idea, you just need the numbers to work with it.

Not true, you don't need at least 1000 subscribers to generate interest. Advertisers will back you at 35 subscribers given your fees are suitable. Bare in mind there are low budget advertisers as well as huge companies hence the reason not every advertiser will have the budget to promote with you once you increase the subscriber base. I for one am interested, please PM me your business details. Regards.

yea, I definatly wont be charging much. I was thinking of something like even for right now because I have gotten up to 800 Uniques to the site in a day maybe offer $___ for a banner on the site plus 50% off in the newsletter for a month of their choice (can choose anytime in the next 6 months). I definatly don't expect to be getting a ton of cash out of it. But being a new/small company every penny helps. PM if anyone is interested. Like I said it would be perfect for anyone looking for males, 15-30s, with lots of money. (good for gaming sites, other clothes, sports)
