i have never had any problems dealing with chinese suppliers, they seem to appreciate your business much more and work their utmost to keep you happy. they like to build trust and a strong relationship, in my opinion they are not just desperate for one order, but many orders. this is just from personal experience though others may have other views/experiences.

Hi all,

To all of you guys who are looking for a "safe" buying experience with Chinese suppliers (or Indian or Korean..): have a look at: www.sourcingreview.com.

When you register here (for free), you get in touch with professional buyers who will tell you if they had a good or a poor experience with the supplier you are targeting. Also plenty of advice and tips on how to deal with chinese manufacturers, trade show reviews and so on...

This is the only buyer community I know in this category.

We (I mean our company) are using sourcing review for a couple of months now. It's like when you buy on Ebay and you see bad or poor ratings on buyers.

It's just excellent

Don't hesitate to review asian suppliers here: we (the buyers) remain 100% anonymous. We just help eachother this way!

Take it easy,i'd say only when you do it yourself ,you can get something you want in the end!

for how to find good companies, hope it helps as following:
if you speak Chinese, you can search it in www.baidu.com by key words,or you can get in Chinese governments's websites for more details.
of course, when you have some Chinese partners or friends ,it will more convenient, besides, you could get some information from your friends around you who are familiar or have done business with China.
any problem you can contact me via bailian.zhang@ux168.cn.
good luck!

Accidentally, today i get a website for Chiness seller and foreign buyer on fabric, maybe you can try it,too
www.fabric.com.cn

I am a Chinese, even Chinese can get cheated by Chinese, but surely not all Chinese are like that.

Except obstacles on language, I think another important thing is technical stuff, I see my engineer , he doesn't know much English, but he can express himself through the some technical stuff, like drawings.

good.

Hi I seek to do business with china, I am trying to make a game console, I seek eletronic part's well componenets, and also a pcb maker, and a raw material company. I am 18, lot's of experance with computers eletronics, I modded my xbox game console.

but the problem is I don't know much on how to go about's getting into a relations with a chinses company.

I soon will be busy with college, and may not have much time on the thing.

but if anyone could help me give me tips, or if you are in china or been working with some chinses companies, PLEASE pm me , I have been googling the whole summer for companies and I havent' found legit ones, alot sound phony.

I am not in a position to fly to china.

I have 2 friends that are chinses and can speak chinese.

I also found a great deal from some company in Malaizia selling wholesale new alienware laptops.

I am soon planning on opening an online business so I could make money on the side.

my dad told me that I can look up suppliers or wholesellers, by going on the chinese embassy website .

You don't need Chinese manufacturers to make your game console. At least not prototypes. Electronic components are sold heavily in the U.S. direct from distributors. Try Digikey.com
Also, PCB suppliers and even companies that will populate PCB's for you are aplenty in the states and very inexpensive. For a few prototypes I usually use PCBExpress, but there are hundreds of similiar companies.
And I wouldn't think that modding an X-Box which probably required following some step-by-step instructions, qualifies you as having experience in designing a game console.

Oh I see, well I didn't say that modding an xbox game console is a experience in designing a game cosnole.

what I meant was I have fixed computer's and xbox game console for friends and family ect, I have college eduction in computer programming and hardware , but don't have a degree yet, I just had 2 year course in computer that are college level, and was able to transfer those credit's to my college.

I know ohm's law and alot of stuff that goes behind the scene just don't know the business side just the tech side.

I have a proto type but now after a I made it I can see newer tech and stuff and now want to re design the whole thing.

but I am looking in china for the cheapest way to mass produce.

I have a huge bread board and I do had software to make the design and also run a sim test on the design.

but I know that in America their prices are crazy.

I am saying I see a blue led for 3 bucks in America and I see the same type blue led online by a chineses company in china, that sell's it .40 cents a peice.

that was the lowest I have seen so far.

I first want to just play around with current latest stuff so I can get a fell on the new tech and the market.

Component prices in china are no cheaper than they are in the U.S. Most manufacturers of electrical components are American or European companies. If you try distributor sites, you can find low prices. Maybe you are shopping at radio shack which has a 50x markup.
What type of blue LED are you looking for? If you have the specs, I can spend 5 minutes and find you one that is suitable.
If you are looking for a high-power LED, which maybe you are since you said they were $3, every major company is using the Luxeon Line, which is manufactured by Philips.

Cool

well it's not just led that was just an example, I need alot of stuff like chips, cpu's ect. I need at least 10 blue leds I don't want it really bright but bright enough that you can see a symbol.

I have been googling the stuff on google and been finding people saying their wholesellers but see their prices are retail prices or close to it.

if I can do it cheap in america That would be great but I don't find any cheap deals or good ones, and I am seeking whosellers prices not somthing that are close to retail. Could you explain what you do when you seek these type of stuff??

Thanks for the help, seriously, I had from other board forums saying it's a waste of time and will cost me billions of dollar's, which I know microsoft and nintendo pay alot of money, but it's mostly becuse billgates is not making everything their are engineers and other professional people working on the product which of course they ask for a high pay, so of couse having more professionals working on your product = more money to dish out.

unless you do the stuff your self which you waste your time working on it but saves you money.

So I really thank you for your input.

There are tens of thousands of companies in the U.S. that use electronic ocmponents and buy from the U.S. I have worked at two of them.
For consumers and even a lot of businesses, if you are looking for quantities from 1-10,000, try a site like digikey. They are one ofthe largest. Another one of the largest electronical component suppliers is arrow electronics.

You are going about it wrong. You don't want ot search google for wholesalers. There are two ways to buy components, either through distributors or directly from the manufacturers. If you have a specific component in mind, contact the manufacturer and they will tell you if they sell it directly or who they use to sell their products. You will also be able to get samples.

In general, components like LEDs, resistors, capacitors, liner ICs (Op Amps, Comparators), FETs, etc... you will all need to get from a distributor. Larger, more expensive chips such as CPUs, network controllers, ethernet switches, DDR, etc... will in most cases be sold directly from manufacturers like Motorola/Freescale, TI, Broadcom, Intel, Marvell, and the list goes on...
