Webmaster/ Developer/ Programmer needed

Hi everyone,

Been reading site for a while and finally joined.

I am looking to start a new search engine.

I have a business plan and marketing strategy drawn up.

I need a webmaster, developer, programmer to translate my idea into the actual website. I have tried looking for one online but either they don't have the experience, untrustworthy, live on the other side of the world, or have a significant fee. Preferrably looking for someone local, NJ, but can be flexible.

Right now I am NOT looking for any funding.

Hoping to find someone trustworthy, will work on this project as a freelance gig/hobby. I can pay up to certain amount, but willing to give up to 5% of company in exchange of work. Formal paperwork, agreement, contract will be drawn up.

PM me for more info

From personal experience, I can say that the technical effort to pull off a project like this will be worth more than 5%. Translating the ideas into technical detail will require knowledge of System Anaysis and Design, database design, software architecture, adequate programming skills and graphic (GUI) design. I am sure I left out some other things needed.

The above skills don't come cheap and most of the individuals qualified will more than likely be making a decent living. Your best bet is to come up with a creative way to attract potential partners. Otherwise, you'll need funding in exchage for ownership.

Hope this helps.

Vince.

Im sure you can find somebody to do this project, but getting somebody living so close cud be pushing it a bit. Also, can I ask why exactly you think that this will work?

Thx for the responses,

I can address some of those points.

Although it's a search engine the program will not be as complicated as a full blown search engine, sorry i can't give anymore info on this, the most complicated part is probably the program to implement my pricing algorithms.
Any web/graphic design is already taken care of.

As for distance, i am flexible to where you live.
As for pay, i can probably afford one person a freelance salary, plus the 5%.

And finally, why will this work?
As for now all i can say is it is a comletely different way of presenting searches, i believe the finds will be more relevant to the searcher, and allows more business to advertise their products for much less than other search engines. There are other features that i cannot list right now.

There are only 2 people that know the idea and my partner and the first things he and i did was just bash the idea and come up with ways why it will fail, and so far my idea has withstood them.

I will start a new thread on what are missing from today's search engines and hopefully i can get a working example up and running

ok everyone,

I made this easier, I will be partnering up with a smaller search engine and they will provide all the software and the engine itself. I guess i need someone to be able to convert the outcome to my search engine and web page, anyone interested?
