interesting concept but i fear that you might have a rough road ahead of ya. businesses which reduce costs for the consumer are usually winners and from what i am assuming this product would require an individual to pay for an email account. however i could not even find any services for consumers on your web page! if your revenue model is built solely around individuals becoming affiliates, i would highly recommend rethinking that approach. additionally people enjoy their anonymity, which is a reason why the "videophone revolution" never really took off. this product would have some appeal in a certain niche market, but your assertion that this is a burgeoning billion dollar business is unfortunately either nieve optimism or intentional hyperbole.

wave of the future - that's what I though...untill it became apparent that voice emails aren't going no where...at least for now

if voice emails aren't taking off - you might be a tad too early with video emails

what you gotta do is be very specific about your target market. based on the performance of startups like broadcast.com (bought by yahoo for 1Billion +), to suceed, you gotta target specific segments of the corporate world.

that said, you gotta appreciate the whole point of email: it's so popular because you don't have to face the person you're talking to. it's the most privacy friendly form of communication. it's non confrontational (people can't tell you to shut up) and does not lead to inferences (you can write one in your pyjamas).

with video - you're going against the whole point of why people like email.

other than that...who ever is doing this startup, I'm betting that it's worth doing

great points there

it's a good technology, what it needs is a specialised market, like doctor-patient care or something, where people wanting privacy is not an issue

or the consulting business/ direct marketing

SPAM with video!!!!! now THAT's the wave of the future
