Question Tray Display Ads... Great Idea. What Do You Think?

Hey all, it's been a while since I've posted here.

Today, I stumbled upon a press release at PR.com about a Young Entreprenuer who, at 20yrs old, launched an advertising business called Tray Display Advertising.

Note:
The site isn't very impressive. My first recommendation to this YE would be to completely redesign the website. Definitely needs to be more interactive. In this line of business, his site could do wonders for him. But that's just MHO.

The business basically does what it's called. It sells ad space on tray liners. You know... those trays the fast food joints use to place your chow on. In return, the establishment saves the cost of purchasing tray liners. According to the press release, sometimes up to $10,000 is saved in tray liner costs thanks to this business. Anyway, reading the press release got me to thinking and it even reminded me of a time many years ago, when my grandmother owned a small cafe.

I recommend she should buy clear plexiglass(or real glass) tops for each of her tables. To generate an extra income, I recommended she offer the table top space underneath the glass as ad space to local businesses.

Imagine the amount of money this idea could(and definitely still can) generate if implemented and marketed correctly.

Coming back to this Tray Liner business... the concept is nothing new and it's definitely not difficult to replicate.

Questions For You:

1. What do you think about this business idea and the potential it has to generate a nice income?

2. Is there software out there that is already setup to accomodate something like this? I'm talking a software specifically for this purpose. I know PhotoShop, Coral Draw would be great, but for those less fortunate to have that software at that disposal... an alternate software would be what I am referring to.

3. What would you consider more important, design skills or marketing skills? Why?

4. How much do you think something like this would cost to get started? Remember.. think BOOTSTRAP!

My final question: Would anyone consider partnering/collaberating on a project like this in the Orange County, CA area?

If so, give me a buzz. I'm ALWAYS ready for a project. Who knows, this could be BIG!
