Hi all, if you are planning to invest in the stock market, here are a few high-performing prospects to keep an eye on. Some of these are just fields, rather than specific companies.

- Uranium companies - especially Australian ones. India, China and now Russia are ramping up demand for Australian uranium, and both the government and opposition party have flagged their intention to open new uranium mines.

- Copper companies. China is about to carry out one of the biggest infrastructure projects the world has ever seen - upgrading its somewhat primitive electricity grid. To do that, they are going to have to wire up for massive additional carrying capacity. What are electrical wires made of? Copper! Copper prices are rising in anticipation of a huge rush of orders from China, but they're still low right now.

- New Oriental Education - China's biggest chain of English language schools. They're listed on the NYSE, and claim about half the market in China. English education is a huge deal, and New Oriental are ubiquitous and extremely well-known, as well as trusted. Their share price has doubled since the IPO in 2006.
