Okay, on the "Acquiring Mortages" thread, I took Karen's advise and looked into Mortage Brokering. To get started in this, you need to first become a Loan Officer/Originator. I did the initial coursework required by my state, and I became certified. Obviously, this is not enough, even for entry-level positions.

What it appears is, I need some entry-level sales position before I can get an entry-level loan officer/originator position... The problem is, I cannot quit my job to do this. So, I need to find something that I can do on my own time, and where I feel like doing business. Any suggestions?
