I'm not sure if it's truely a "scam", but I would say that it's probably not a good investment.

Goodcall Guys, alright so for a while i have been thinking fo some business ideas in my area, here are my ideas, please tell me what you think and which could you see being the most profitable. thanks again. oh yea, i'm posting in confidence that you will help me out with my business give pointers and such rather than take my ideas or bash. thanks again for any help...here are my ideas...
A little background info: I live on Mercer Island, Wa. its a very wealthy area, surrounded by water and lots of big houses with boats and dogs and nice cars.... some back ground on me...Ive been working since i was 15. Ive been a camp counselor, Valet parker and now i'm assistant manager of sales at a high dollar used car lot...
1: Delivered service
- What this company would provide is a service where for a flat rate, we would come out wash, wax and vacuum your car, check all fluids, battery, air pressure, detail the interior, etc. at your house so that it could be getting done while you are at home rather than the inconvience of taking it somewhere and waiting. we would do cars and boats.
2: The poop Scooper idea...
- We would come to your house and scoop your animals waste once a week and mow your yard each week. this would be a flat fee and would be a routien service. if i could get 10 customers each week and charge like 30 bucks each time, i could earn 300 a week with little overhead.
3: Home Prep:
- This service would be where we would go to houses waiting to be sold and clean them, mop the floors, put on new knobs and "refresh" the house a little so that its ready to be shown for prospective buyers. we would be available on call. we could also go and mow the lawns and keep them up while they are un-occupied. If we could get contracted out to a real estate company, we could generate enough business to be profitable and worth the time.
please tell me which you think would be the best and why...worst and why...any tips? thanks again.

Hello... I think that if this service is not yet available in the target area, then by all means, man, go right ahead. I'm sure some flyers and a darn good job for reasonable prices for your first clients would guarantee you an expansion within months. Don't under-estimate mouth-to-mouth publicity
Hoping to hear good news from your project, man

I think washing people's cars while they are at work in the work parking lot is a good idea to throw one in. You would generate alot of sales because everyone will see you doing it from that company (assuming the company overloooks the lot). This is also incredibly convenient for the customers.

I know a couple people in my area that have done the "on-site" detailing, washing, service thing and have done quite well. Since you are driving around all the time to poeples work and homes, you are always advertising yourself so marketing is cheap.
If it isn't being done, or there is need for more, I say go for it!

Thanks for all the suport guys, so it seems that the "Car Refreshing" service would be the best one, right?
What about the Idea of keeping houses for sale clean and ready to be shown at all times. We could go and check up on the houses regularly, mow the lawn once a week while its for sale, maybe plant new floweres, pressure wash the drive ways, mop the floors, clean all the bathrooms etc. Just make them cleaner and easier to sell. do you think this idea has any potential also?
Thanks again and i truely do appreciate your time.

Impressive.
Great Idea. I know first hand how "difficult" it can be to do your own dirty work with such a tight schedule. People will eat it up.
As for constructive criticism: What sort of business will this be? (Maybe you already answered that) A sole propriatorship?.. even though I strongly advise against that. Maybe if you expand enough.. grow in.. estimating 6 months time.. then it would be possible to create a corporation (preferably an S Corp) so that you can have a separate entity for legal and tax purposes. Some people will possibly see this as an opportunity to claim lost/stolen goods or damaged property and sue. You wouldn't want to be personally liable. A good insurance company should be researched throughly.(I've seen bad things happen in those situations.) If you can, get a team together. Legal, tax, financial advisors. Create a strong foundation and work your way up. Keep progressing and don't get discouraged. Remember to Learn from your mistakes and Good Luck!
Any questions? Contact me.

Thanks for all the ideas guys (and Gals), i truly do take it all into consideration.
As i work on some of the "small Print" factors i stumbled across chooseabiz.com and was wondering if anyone had started thier company through them? The travel affiliate company looked interesting and with some good marketing tools, could get some customers. If anyone else has used this to start thier business, let me know. thanks.
