i noticed you are running phpizabi. I am going with another social network platform because with phpizabi, you cannot update the site (they are in beta) without forcing all of your membership to sign up again.

what are your thoughts on this?

jpmorgan13, only with phpizabi a person can't update the site?

Actually, the version I am running is a fully functional app, they are planning on re-writting the application (codename: alicia) however there is no due date on that re-write, that is probably what led you to believe that the site was in beta. I have re-done several parts of the site without any issues at all, however I am a PHP developer so I have an unfair advantage

. They are leaving the database model intact, and only adding on to it, thus there would be no reason for your users to have to re-signup. I have been using the app for about a month+ now, and what I have gatehred from the app is that it was put together rather well. Yes, they did encrypt certain pages which prevent you from changing them, however, 90% of the site is in seperate modules that allow you to alter them and change the functionality/usability of the site. I have chatted with the developer several times and he knows his stuff, plus you add to the rather large group like myself that are adding on MODS all the time and improving on what was already there and you get a rather nice site. Well, that is just my 2 cents. If you have any other questions just let me know and I will do my best to try and answer them. In short I really like the app, and I want to see it built to its fullest ability

Thanks for the answer. I am going with SNAPP for my social network site. I am not a developer and so SNAPP will allow me to concentrate on building membership and not on managing the inner workings of the site. The price is very reasonable as well. Plus, its feature loaded and the interface is great!

What made you choose phpizabi over some of the other free of pay to you social networking platforms?

PHPizabi is focused on dating, it was developed to be a dating site, after seeing so many different (e-harmony, True, match) type sites, I needed something that fell into the same guidlines as e-harmony. My site is created to find the best possible match as far as business partners go. So I needed a site/social networking type app that would meet those needs. Obviously no one was going to have exactly what I was looking for or I would already be out of business because a 100 million other folks would be doing the same sort of thing. That is PHPizabi was such a perfect fit, I needed more of that type of app versus a true social network site like SNAPP. My users do not really need the abilities to send pictures or upload music

. Also with the future version of Alicia on the Horizon, and the features it will be providing, I figured it was the best bet.

I have looked at SNAPP as well, however I cannot seem to get a hold of people that offer it. I have emailed and called but no reply on either front. How long did it take them to respond to you? and are there any other types of apps like SNAPP that anyone knows about?

We are a new website and are using it. We just grabbed our theme from phpizabithemes.com

I am not sure if I am alowed to post the link because of the adult content. Anyway it is a pain to customise that is why we bought a theme.

huh...very technical. I am totally "naive" in programming and i am lost. Is this some kind of computer language or application? Like PHP, HTML, C++ kind of things?

Haha... that's so cute Kenix, but wow I agree... hahaha!!!

My Dad does all my programming for my websites... very thankful for that!
